Bersham Ironworks

Bersham Ironworks history lasted about 100 years, it was established by Charles Lloyd in around 1717 to produce pig iron for local forges. The works golden age was during the 1770s to 1790s when John ‘Iron Mad’ Wilkinson was in charge of the works manufacturing iron cannon and steam engine cylinders. The works finally closed in 1812 following John’s death in 1808.
