Collections

The Collections Centre is a research facility for visitors interested in the museum’s collections.

We have been collecting objects since 1982 and now have over 16,000 in our collection.

The collection aims to tell the story of Wrexham County Borough and its people throughout time and includes archaeology, art, social history, textiles, industrial and economic history, natural history and military history.

Welsh Football Collection

Wrexham Museum is home to the Welsh Football Collection. The collection was established in 2000 with the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and is the largest collection of Welsh football memorabilia held in public ownership in Wales. Highlights include material related to John Charles, Wales shirts from international games, and medals and trophies relating to all levels of the game in Wales.

Collections Centre

With over 16,000 objects in our collection it is not possible to have every item on display at the same time. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t see them. If you wish to see something that is currently not on display, please contact us using the details below and we can arrange a time for you to visit the Collections Centre to see the item up close. We aim to make as much of our collections accessible as possible to members of the public but please be aware some items may not be accessible due to health and safety requirements.
